A design request on Odepla begins with a client providing a precise description of the design requirements. Clients are guided step-by-step through the process of creating a design request, allowing them to provide all the necessary information to help architects understand what kind of design is needed.
To do this, for example, click on “New request” in the navigation bar and click on “Start request now”.
You can then specify your request step-by-step. To do this, you select the cards that best describe your project:
After you have specified your request, you will be taken to the overview of your request. Here you can complete your request by adding plans, requirements, pictures etc.:
Once you have done that, you can complete and publish the draft request at the bottom of the page.
While architects can find published requests in the corresponding list, builders can find the created requests here:
negotiate fee
Once the design request has been published, interested architects can submit offers. The client can then review the various offers and negotiate the price for the design with the architects (note: The fee schedule for architects and engineers (HOAI) is no longer binding as of January 1st, 2021, so that the fee for creating the draft can be freely negotiated). Messages can be used to clarify all the details. Both parties can make counter-offers in order to reach an agreement during the negotiation.
You can accept or reject offers from architects – and make a counter offer as needed:
pay for performance
As soon as the client accepts an offer, the design process can begin. The client pays the agreed amount for the design. The money is stripes kept in a safe place and only paid to the architect when the design has been completed. If the client does not receive a design, the full amount will be refunded.
For this, after you and an architect have agreed on a fee, you will receive an email message to pay for the requested service:
By clicking on “Pay amount” you get to Stripe and can easily make a secure payment there:
create drafts
Once payment has been made, the commissioned architect can submit initial sketches. Both parties can communicate via messages and comment on the work. Together they work out the appropriate design. Once the commissioned architect has completed the initial sketches and drafts, the final drafts are submitted so that the client can review them.
If you open your previously created design request, you will now find the sketches and drafts of your contractor via “Received design”:
Here you can view the submitted sketches and talk to the contractor about them:
In the "Final drafts" tab you will find the final drafts uploaded by the contractor. Confirm the submission of the drafts so that you can download and use them:
You can then download the drafts or the completed usage rights transfer agreement:
payout
Finally, the commissioned architect receives the agreed amount for the design (minus the service fee for Odepla).
